Biosafety laboratory is an important part of the whole laboratory decoration project. Level 1: The degree of harm is low, and it is not pathogenic to healthy adults, animals and plants. Simple understanding: Level 1 is almost harmless.
Level 2: Medium harm, with effective prevention and treatment methods, will not cause serious harm to healthy adults and animals. Simple understanding: Level 2 is controllable.
Level 3: High degree of hazards (described by technical specifications as high individual hazards and low group hazards), high infectivity, prevention and treatment measures, direct contact or air transmission, high infectivity. Simple understanding: Level three is highly dangerous, but still preventable and controllable.
Level 4: High degree of hazards (described by technical specifications as high individual hazards and high group hazards), high infectivity, no prevention and treatment measures, direct contact or air transmission, high infectivity. Simple Understanding: Level 4 is highly dangerous, unprotectable, uncontrollable and incurable. It is an unknown and destructive biological hazard.
Of course, the same biological hazards do not remain unchanged over time, such as SARS virus, which belonged to level 4 biosafety when it spread in that year. However, effective preventive and controllable measures have been classified as level 3 biosafety.、
Most biosafety laboratories are P2 or lower. ABSL-2-b2 in P2 belongs to the moderate hazard of animal biosafety, and can not be effectively isolated by biosafety cabinet and other safety isolation devices. This kind of laboratory should be designed according to grade 8 (100,000) cleanliness, negative pressure and minimum ventilation times for 12 times. Other biosafety laboratories below ABSL-2-b 2 have no mandatory requirements for cleanliness, and can be ventilated mechanically or naturally through windows.
